Dream Big

You can’t shoot for the moon if you don’t aim for the moon. Yup, itś true. You need to believe in yourself, in anything you do. It is like rule number one in the rule book. It is not always easy to believe in yourself. So to help fuel my belief I think of who inspires me like Steph Curry, for example. When I am doing my basketball drills I pretend he is watching me and cheering me on. I imagine him saying, “Keep going, you got it!” and it makes me try twice as hard. Who helps you believe in yourself?

It is hard to aim high when you tell yourself that you can’t do it. Self-talk is like fuel. Good fuel is encouraging self-talk but negative self-talk is bad fuel that slows you down. Words are power. They can push you forward or pull you backward. Make sure that you choose your words wisely. Give yourself some encouraging words and positive self-talk and you’ll be amazed at what you can do!

Notice how the quote says, “we can’t shoot for the moon if we don’t aim”? You’re not going to get where you want to be if you don’t think about where you want to aim. You aim then act. Itś important to think about where you aim while you are dreaming big. Trying to shoot for the moon without aiming is like eating with no mouth, you won’t get very far. You’re not going to get anywhere in life without practice and persistence. Always dream big and aim high!

The higher you aim the higher you will get. For example, Walt Disney was a big dreamer. First, he worked for a newspaper company then got fired for not having good ideas. But he kept dreaming big. Then in 1921 he started a company that eventually went bankrupt and was forced to live on dog food. Yuck! But did he stop aiming high? No! He kept believing and aiming for the moon which led him to the creation of Mickey Mouse and Disney World.

Walt Disney went from living off of dog food to making Dinsey World all with the power of dreaming big and aiming high. That is how powerful believing in yourself can be. Just imagine what you can do as long as the dream big and aim high!
